Choreography

Xiaoyu Wu works in choreography as an ongoing exploration of movement and presence. Rather than focusing on fixed forms, her choreographic approach values process. Improvisation functions as both a compositional tool and a performative strategy, allowing choreography to remain responsive to context, space, and the performers involved.

Her solo work Staying With premiered in February 2026 at The Nest, Chichester Festival Theatre. Developed through improvisation, the work explores presence, attention and the shifting relationship between inner experience and outward performance. She is interested in developing choreographic projects that emerge from collaboration, improvisation, and site-responsive contexts, and is open to future commissions and interdisciplinary collaborations.
